Jay-Z - “Paper Dog” Recall Notes and Console Tape (1998)

Rare studio production archive associated with the unreleased Jay-Z recording “Paper Dog,” comprising original recall notes and console tape dating to 1998. Long regarded as one of the most mythologised unreleased tracks in Jay-Z’s catalogue, “Paper Dog” was ultimately withdrawn following reported sample-clearance issues, adding to its legendary status among collectors and hip-hop historians. Technical studio documents from major late-1990s rap sessions rarely survive outside professional recording environments, particularly for unreleased material. The archive offers a rare behind-the-scenes look into the recording and mixing process behind one of the era’s most discussed unreleased hip-hop recordings.
