An original promotional display featuring the iconic lenticular 3D artwork from The Rolling Stones’ 1967 album Their Satanic Majesties Request. Reproducing one of the most distinctive album covers of the psychedelic era, the display captures the innovative three-dimensional image that made the original release an instant collector’s piece.
Created to promote the album at the time of its release, displays such as this were produced in far smaller numbers than the commercial LP and were intended for use in record shops rather than for public sale. As a result, surviving examples are considerably scarcer than the album itself.
Designed by photographer Michael Cooper, the elaborate cover became one of the defining visual statements of the Summer of Love, reflecting the band’s embrace of psychedelia and experimental studio recording during one of the most adventurous periods of their career.
This display comes directly from the personal collection of Mary Cobra (Mary Ramirez), founding guitarist of The Detroit Cobras, whose archive reflects a lifelong appreciation for landmark rock recordings and music memorabilia.
